Nuclear Detonation Pack
What is the best way to use the NDP? How do other players use it?

As Bastion you can try to put it under yourself when surrounded by bugs and hope nuke takes them all. NDP is trash tier tbf, better switch for something else. Timer makes it too impactical to deal damage with and it's not even that powerful to justify all that hassle.

Put one behind a wall where a tiger is about to bust down a wall is the best scenario i see using it

I've been trying to figure out how as well; the payoff just seems lacklustre considering we're only given one of them to use. It appears to have a very short radius, and as far as I'm aware, it won't even kill a tiger elite, or a grenadier.

However, I think the blast doesn't take line of sight into account, so you should be able to place it behind walls that are being hit, and it will kill any bugs on the other side of the wall without destroying the wall itself.

It has no damage. That's its problem. I YOLOed the grenadier bug, put it right under it (so literal 1 meter), died from bugs, DetPack exploded and it didn't even kill the warriors around it, let alone the grenadier itself. DMG needs to be up at least 10 times and blast radius as well to make it worth.

I absolutely agree with this. As it currently stands it's just outclassed by the other utility options available; I expect a Nuclear Detonation Pack to feel a little more useful.

If you look at the Deep Rock Galactic equivalent, the grenade launcher with the fat boy overclock, it has a much larger range, which can be expanded with the correct perks on the weapon, it leaves behind an area of effect that deals damage over time, AND the engineer gets multiple of them before resupplying to boot.

I hate to use DRG as a comparison, but as a cooperative bug killing slaughterhouse, that's what this game is competing with. It doesn't have to do things the same, but it does have to do things them equal or better to stand a chance.

EDIT: Redundancy

When I use the C ability as a Heavy trooper and get surrounded by bugs I usually put it under myself to take out all the bugs around me. Watkins style :flashingnuke::DukeExplosion:
But yeah not very useful unless they increase the power of the blast or radius at least. The mines styl feel like the best item. And the explosion they create is so nice to look at.

That's exactly what I use'm for. That and placing under troopers that have been AFK for the entire match... damn leeches

Another utility item that would greatly benefit from changing the placement of offensive utilities from stare at the ground and place vs ability to toss it a few feet similar to a grenade toss animation. It would synergize with the face paced gameplay.

The only thing I use it for is launching players out of the map. Top tier space cannon

Big bug swarms at the end. Go drop a pack in the middle of the base an help people escape. They take so much time to arm though lets be honest they aren't very useful.

The direct damage utilities and grenades in general are quite poor at this time (source: the BTK thread on the ST:E discord), owing to low damage, low blast radius, difficulty of deployment, or all of the above.

Support-oriented utilities and grenades are generally the preferred options right now. Ammo Fabricators allow for greater endurance, Scan Beacons and grenades increase damage dealt and grant wallhacks, Chem grenades slow enemies, and Napalm grenades coerce enemies around an area.

I use it against hordes behind walls and a desperate method to clear enemies when I am surrounded.

Dmg, time to arm and radius are all garbage. Picking a better utility item is the best course of action until devs tweak numbers.
Mosey Jun 11, 2023 @ 4:52pm
The simple answer is you don't use it because it's awful and outclassed by literally anything else.
kampfer91 Jun 11, 2023 @ 5:02pm
it only have 1 use , pitiful damage and AOE , plus there is a bug that causing it to not damage anything as long as there is a prop between it and the target .

Trash tier tbh.
