Usually a game cant crash your PC , with the limited info it could be multiple things.
your PSU cant keep up ( PC likely just goes OFF )
Your OS is corrupted ( maybe blue screen or off )
Hardware defect.
Your house power isnt stable.
Loose cables ( it can be any it will trip your PSU / surge )
A usb Device Tripping safety from your PSU.
Slightly bend USB connectors which rarely connect and make your PC shut off.

in my guess lowering your settings = less pressure on your GPU / CPU = less power use = likely your PSU.

I have this problem too, I've corresponded with Offworld support, they had me clear my game cache and verify integrity.
That got me through one round and I still crashed when I returned to main menu.
I'm using a GeForce RTX 3060, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X and have 128 GB RAM.

I seemed to be crashing pretty consistently at somewhere around a minute away from evac phase. In the round I played all of, I had one big system hiccup at around the usual time, but it was able to keep going that time, long enough for me to get session XP.

Does your computer meet these requirement:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1070 8 GB or AMD Equivalent
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 20 GB available space

If so try this: https://thedroidguy.com/starship-troopers-extermination-crashing-1244257

That's some good general maintenance, I can say it didn't help me, but eliminating variables will help if you take this to a tech support ticket.

ive got the same issue since the last update : full freeze and crashes my first thought were faulty AMD drivers

Ryzen 7 5700g , RX6700XT

Had a similar issue today, loaded up the game and made it through the opening splash screens, entire PC crashed as soon as the menu screen tried to load. Restarted and joined a game, noticed more lag than normal and upon dying once, my character was unable to respawn and all I could see was a grey screen. Left the game and played Fallout New Vegas and Baldur's Gate 3 with no issue.

RTX 4060/I7-13700F/16GB DDR5 RAM/800 GB free space on the installed NVME.
All drivers are up to date.
The error reports show nothing of interest.

Could be me, but this game is one of the worst running games I've played in a while (I still love it though).

I am guessing it’s just this game that crashes the PC? My nephew had an issue where his PC was shutting down while gaming - no crash reports to give him an idea of why this was happening. He changed his PSU and the PC hasn’t shut down once - he plays games with OBS running during streaming too.

If it’s just this game, I would go over the settings, and maybe try running the game in admin mode? Can’t mind how you do that, would need to google it. Done that for a couple of games I was having issues with, and it seemed to help.

RTX 2070, I9-9900k, 16gb ddr4. My PSU is 1000watt I think. I don’t have this issue, so maybe the higher Wattage has helped?

A temporary solution to test might be possible there : https://steamcommunity.com/app/1268750/discussions/1/4357872216488733835/

Yeah i am betting on the operating system.

My huge fans spin up like crazy when I start the game so yes I would also start with checking temps (including mem stick temps) and PSU.

I been having this issue frequently, Initially it was the settings, high graphics 120 FPS, switched it to 60FPs and medium graphics. Seemed to fix it, then the next day full crash again, switched it to low graphics yesterday seemed to fix that. Now today it is crashing as in full PC shuts down crash, Granted it is my Monster brand Surge protector that trips but in the list in the Task Manager all seem to point in my GPU just sky rocketing no matter what I do. RTX 2080 SUPER, I7-9700k, 32gb ddr4

Sound to me like some HW issue. My first guess would be that your PSU is bad and delivers insufficient or unstable power. Happened to me a long time ago, PSU was slowly dying. Try switching it. Second guess is that something (CPU, GPU, ram sticks) gets too hot, you should check your temps and fans and ventilation with some system monitoring app. Third guess would be that something is fried i.e. GPU dying or faulty ram. Have you run a memcheck and stresstest on this rig like prime95, furmark or whatever?
