Get drunk/high for #3
The cgi movies; Invasion and Traitor of mars are good enough so no need for anything special
That would be cool even as a background voice for the main menu.
And a hidden trigger or rare voice line to make him go full Mr Krabs and be all "Rico, me boy!! ACK aackackack!"
I can see it. I felt really off about Mars Attacks first viewing, also Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, but future viewings both are amazing. They require the right mindset or knowing what you're getting into so definitely second viewing on some movies makes them awesome.
Book: based
Roughnecks: solid
Live action sequels: bad and not the fun kind of bad, just bad
Anime sequels: pretty great as long as you can ignore the doofy anime tropes
+1 for Clancy Brown doing voiceovers
But yeah.... I really want more of the charm of the 1st movie
We decided to watch the 2nd and 3rd movies since apparently my dad owns all of the Starship Trooper movies(he's a movie nut). They were fun as well so we will borrow the rest. Fun action korny sci-fi movies what's not to like? Though I will say I am glad the 3rd movie goes back to the "roots" sort of. That second movie was eh..
Just watched the 2nd and it was an overly serious quasi action B horror movie that would have been maybe passable on its own if not for the Starship Troopers coat of paint. From the sounds of it the 3rd movie at least feels like ST despite being notably worse critically than the original.
