Does Anyone Else Get Tired of Woke Agendas?

Ok, I fully expect a lot of hate, but I want to see if I'm the only one annoyed.
I remember seeing the game on YouTube (I missed the demo) about 3 weeks ago. I saw the scout was female and was like ugh.. here we go. Hilariously, the lead dev kept referring to the scout as "my guy" in his playthrough so it's not him making the choice, some wokeness advisor did it I assume? Anyway, the rest of the game looked intriguing, so I got it. Overall, I like the game.. highly flawed but has potential to be really good. I have a lot of posts on my thoughts and suggestions on the official forums.

Anyway, I play through, and the eye rolls come one after another. Longswords are female, almost every cavalry unit is female, 2nd tier city guard is female, My hero unit had a female name and other units look androgenous as hell. Can we... just stop with this stuff, please? Humankind was bugging me with the traditional choice is always awful and progressive is always great, plus the lefty ideas like "should we let criminals run wild and tear down our 3000 year old steps to make a ramp for the one guy in a wheel chair? Or should we not do those things and get the bad result" or "We have 2 factories, the earth is dying, should we be environmentalists (good bonus) or mean old Republicans (bad choice) in the start of the industrial revolution? The constant snide remarks from the narrator anytime you chose the traditional, profit focused, or authoritarian choice. I was hoping this game could just be neutral, but sigh, nope.

Anyway, I'm just seeing this more and more in my games, it's inescapable. I actually think there is the type of wokeness director on the team for EVERY game, the type South Park would make a parody of. Is that actually what happens now? Would it have been THAT much to just make the units in full uniform/armor so we can't tell? Then it doesn't have to bother anyone on either side. Did someone SERIOUSLY get up and say "we need women represented in our ancient and middle ages armies" If you need female representation, make it the non combat units, or even a modern sniper, fine. Not the people who's job it is to crush skulls in melee combat.

So, I know I'm going to get the usual: "Why does it bother you?" or "There are fantasy ages but I don't want gurlz in muh game lulz" I would fire back with if it doesn't matter, then why not just represent the units correctly? It doesn't matter, so just leave it as it really was/is. It bugs me because it's pushing an agenda. I just want to play a game without CONSTANLTY having "the agenda" shoved down my throat. Does it break the game for me? No, but it's annoying, like a squeak in your car you can't solve or a scratch on your monitor. Just an annoyance that's constantly there and does not need to be. Is that too much to ask? I

I recall a mod for Stellaris that added more white portraits/names and it got like insta banned, ROFL. Hopefully, we can have a mod that swaps out the portraits of the units for men and isn't banned. Lot of improvements I think the game needs to take priority, but this is on my list of wants.

Yes, but I get equally tired of the opposite side yelling "get woke, go broke" or "leftards" etc every chance they get.

It's just as tiresome as the other side yelling "patriarchy" and "misogyny" at everything.

Pretty much the same with hardcore religous groups vs hardcore atheists.

Mostly I'm here to play a game and have fun, exchange game info, share and get tips and tricks of the game etc, get to know people who share similar hobbies, but that's just me. :)

I do make exceptions and participate in other conversations too when I feel like it. Like right now.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying anyone can not do that. Freedom of speech and all that. All I'm saying is what I find tiresome with this topic where I turn and that pretty much answers the intitial question.

I'm not sure about the longswords. Wondering if they're just chivalric males with long blond hair. They do have male battle grunts. Anyway, there's really not much of an agenda here. It doesn't really penalize you for doing anything over another thing. Even the CE/BCE thing everyone was on about is only a half-truth, because that becomes BC/AD if you get a religion.

Yeah, exactly this. Both sides generally have the same tactics, they just can't see it in one another. If they realized how similar they are, they might be able to recognize their faults and actually sit down and discuss things calmly with eachother.

i hate the woke agenda as much as the next guy but we can't be upset every time we see a female. it's a little different like in a movie where the woke agenda is to have the weak female verbally say she is strong independent women and don't need no man and that be the whole movie as opposed to the character just being female and doing strong actions. who cares exactly

IRL, I have blonde hair, and it's not short.. pretty long and shaggy. I am very clearly male however. Think a less attractive, shorter, not as good shape Thor from the first movie he did. It's a female, trust me. Lage high res monitor. Also to clear this up: THe UNIT ICON. The drawen picture for the unit, the thing you click to build the unit/see when you click on the unit. Not the crappy battle scene.

To Lord Funk: I hear you, but if they don't poke me, I won't yelp. Right? As I said in the post, just leave it as real life is, or don't even give a human icon, make it a symbol of a knight or a sword or a gun. Easy.

The only woke thing on my end is the removal of fascism. It was replaced by fundamentalist as the last government choice on age VIII against communism and democracy. Civilization games had those tech tree/government option. Fundamentalist would be ideal on age of kings due to theocracy along with republic/empire/etc. It also aligns with harmony run. Some could argue fundamentalist = present islamic state but it is more suited to crusader kings era.

My opinion might change since I'm only at age VIII. I did finish age of harmony and age of conquest so far. I haven't seen the variant ages on IV, VI, ans VIII yet.

Tbh they should just use Totalitarian/Technocracy or Oligarchy/democracy. for me personally while Fascism and Communism are diffrent ideological perspectives they just end up being the same Totalitarian regimes with a diffrent lick of color.

As for female units I honestly have yet to see any pretty sure the city guard T2 are males but it's not like I spend my time watching the battles or models of units up close as I ussually skip it, I only care for the results.
