I really wish the tooltips over improvements said what the improvement actually did

Like what is the difference between plantation and farm!? I have no idea why I would place one or another because the tooltips are so freaking bad. I see the plantation gives me 2 food but no idea what the farm does. I assume the plantation is more specialized so if I'm placing it over a cotton or olives I want to use a plantation but again, the info in this game is pretty garbage.

The plantation gives you cash crops like olives, grapes, ... and can only be built on a tile with such a resource.
The farm is grassland only and gives wheat which can be processed to flour and bread for more food.

I see now that actually clicking on the tile then clicking the gather button gives better information than the hovers or the improvements screen.

Yes it does, probably because the "Gather" effect is dependent on the tile (if there is or not a Bonus Good there)
