What do you think would be worth doing after 500 turns?

In Civ games you can play in slower gamespeeds like marathon or modded gamespeed where each era/age lasts a couple hundred turns. More time between techs and ages allows more time to explore the map, improve cities and infrastructure, fight wars with consistent tech, eg ancient war, medieval war, renaissance war ... each era feels like its own game.

Some players enjoy the slow epic/marathon/custom gamespeed while others enjoy a faster gamespeed where you get a new tech, unit, building every other turn like in a card game ...

Sure, if the game pace is reduced the number of turns would go up proportionally.
Since this game doesn't (currently) have optional speeds, I can't imagine things not being basically played out after 500 turns, so, really not much interesting left to do.

I do remember pushing some Civ games along after they "finished" but it quickly got pretty boring. I don't mind if someone wants to do that, and if it would be a trivial option to add, fine ... but please don't spend much dev time on this feature when there are lots of things that warrant improvement first.

In (latest) Civ games you just need a few SQL statements to upscale certain types of values like tech costs, building costs, etc.

If Millennia intends to support modding, it should be easy.

I feel like this game's mechanism is more like a competitive game (even against AI), instead of a relaxing pve civ game.

If you min-max you can transcend around 1800. This game is definetly not designed to be competitive as this breaks nearly all AIs. It feels more like a relaxing game.

I do want a speed option though. Some interesting ages are too short.

Yep, that is me. I hate how you are usually two ages ahead in tech compared to what is actually on the map.

yes thats right it is easy sadly after going thrue the game files I have not been able to find the right line too change..I am not a dev or modder so ofc, I would like someone to point me in the right direction and not those kids that are eaven more grumpy then me :steammocking:

Yep, I would like the option to keep playing without a date constraint, and the ability to adjust the speed of progress across the various ages. Mainly, I would like to slow the game down.

If you check Dev Notes from March 14th, there will be Modding added later this year and it might be similar to Civ 5 using xml for data files.

Add some modding tools sounds great ,they want to sell a lot of DLC before that ,means we dont get it soon ,maybe december:steambored:
It's probably gonna come as a dlc when they add more ages and 'future' :spacepony:

We are looking into adding speed settings as well as infinite turn options, this is however not the highest priority right now with a lot more other Quality of Life features being more vital for Update #1.

Will keep you posted about updates on this!
