My friends and I were looking forward to play this game and here we are, the great day when it is released... But no ! For some reasons the devs decided to use a system of hot seat that have been discarded for decades now. A hot seat system where each player plays its turns then leaves the game, the save is then sent to the next player who can then load the game, plays his own turn, leave the game and rinse and repeat.

What the hell did you guys think ? Not only is this system ridiculous but even joining each other is cancerous. Just like when we played doom (not eternal I'm talking about Doom first of its name) or Quake we have to go open ports manually in the IAF interface or go through Hamachi.

If you dont know how to make modern multiplayer or at least somewhat modern then recruit someone who can or just make a solo game. Or at the very least push the release back.

I always try to defend devs but this is too catastrophic of a system for a 2024 game to defend.

Cloud hotseat doesn't even keep the game 'live' in-between swapping turns?!?
Surely not?

That's objectively worse than simply streaming your game to the other players using 3rd party tools like Steam's Remote Play Together.

Simply can not get multiplayer to work, have been trying since launch. Who on earth thought this was a good idea, was any of this play tested at all? Total joke.

Yeah, this is the most archaic, ass backwards multiplayer "solution" I have seen in decades.

Civilization 2 solved this issue nearly 30 years ago!!!

That's crazy and it's a shame because the game is honestly not that bad for a first game by the studio and a 4X but at least release in EA and warn that the MP will be delayed. Do not release such a MP mode. At this point it's litteraly spitting in the players face.
