However, it only covers one era of human history albeit in a great amount of detail and that's one of its great strengths. I often play Civ with the longest game possible so that I can experience each era for a longer period and Old World allows me to fully indulge in the Ancient/Classical era gameplay.
There's no industrial era or beyond at all which means it doesn't scratch the same itch as Civ can. So as much as I love Old World, it isn't a game that covers all the ages as this will do when finished and that's what I'm looking for here. I hope for a 'Medieval World', a 'Rennaissance World', an 'Industrial World' and a 'Modern World' game of equal depth instead. The fantasy would be to then combine them all into one monster game but that's a pipe dream.
