+ The music is great, already much better than those in Humankind, I haven't heard any transcendent themes such as certain music in Civilizations, but given that it's only a demo it only bodes well for this level.
+ The combat system, simple and effective, the battle window reminds me of those in the games Call To Power 1 and 2. The barbarians are somewhat doped with hormones, but I find that it adds spice at the start of the game.
+ Quite a few resources from what I saw, but there didn't seem to be any strategic resources (such as iron for example), perhaps this is an option that will be implemented later.
+ The public works system, automatic roads between cities (I guess it will turn into a railway once the technology is acquired?)
+ The different areas (culture, military, etc.), a good idea that deserves to be developed a little more.
+ The general atmosphere that emerges from the game.
- The fact that the ages are for everyone and not just for the civilization that chose it, and the fact that we are obliged to have the one chosen by another civilization.
- I think that using a unit to establish diplomatic contacts is a bad idea and will be boring in the long run, thus encouraging the player not to focus on this aspect of the game.
- Civilizations don't seem to have anything that sets them apart from others (special units and buildings), but that's probably something that will be added between now and the game's release.
Not really positive or negative, but I haven't figured out how to use the money, I haven't seen an option to speed up the production of units or buildings with it or even to buy tiles for your city. Besides, the borders of my first city were expanding on their own, but not those of my second and third city, maybe a bug or maybe I missed something.
In any case, the demo has allayed some of my fears about the game and seems to have very good potential, but it still needs some polishing, if it is to be a decent competitor to Civilization or even Humankind.
