I hope we can just add our own nations to play

I was reading the dev diary about the nations. They say that who you play as is just a "skin", as in they don't have unique traits, and instead you build your nation with traits throughout the game.

I like this idea, and I always thought Humankind should have taken an approach closer to this. I look forward to selecting a country not for their abilities but because I like that country.

I hope we have the option though to add our own nations instead of just using the ones in game. It would be annoying to have to wait for a dlc to play as more nations when they are purely cosmetic.

Also, some nations that interest me (Central Europe) rarely get represention in these games, but great if I could just make the Croations myself to play as.

Just some thoughts off the top of my head.

my guess would be that you can mod other nation in, but i dont think there will be something like an editor or similar feature

would agree with the poster they need to have create your own nation option like king maker in Crusader kings 3 or like custom build race in stellairs

it also be nice if there was way to play against all custom nations none historical accurate that be cool.

I also hope that they allow for you to play with as many AI opponents as you able o slap in or have access to, including multiplayer. I do not need no weak sauce only 8 total players in multiplayer If there is 32 races in game I want to see option to add 32 into multiplayer tab


I don't need my options tweaked for best performance I can do that my self for my own system I don't need developers forcing it on me.

those two things alone will be bases on if I get game or not period. -> I do kind of wish it hope its RTS and not Turn Base.. like stellaris for example or Ck3 CK2 and Victory so forth. Turn base is just kind boring it is so hard get back into turn based after real time grand stgy other whys I would buy up that new Galactic civilization game but I just cant do it. I cant do turn base for these games any more. so get me over turn base if it is it would have to be amazing with the options and player capabilities and amount of AI in the game and nations it have to just blow me out of the water and custom capability have to be included.

I bought humankind that game just sucked life out of me when i play that game I feel my soul dieing so I hope it is not like that game.

in mean time if i feel need ill just play civilization 4 so we will see what this is when it comes out.

I don't want to have to mod bs into the game, I just want options to do what i want to do and i agree with Steven I don't need developers detecting what how many players or AI i can have in game or cant I can make that choice my self for my own system also systems get better over time so it makes sense to allow players to pick the setting in options that fit there performance needs.

It does always bug me when developer tell me what my system settings can handle and what they can't by force a hard cap on what I can do in options for my own games be them multiplayer with friends or single player.

I also do not need that type of policing in my games.

I do think it make sense also to allow players to has customer RPG experience when comes to races or nations it is nice to be able to customize things.

that should not require a mod every paradox game has this ability it is a standard in all of their games now and should be a standard for this one also.

I personally wish they add more games to GOG I tend to not buy most of my games on steam so. so far all my paradox games are on GOG but whatever we will see.

I'm pretty sure that in one of the videos they've put out, they said that you can change the name, flag color, and maybe more.
