[solved] Township - Happiness suddenly dropped to 1%
I have 45 Township and was grinding to get up to 2,500 population so I could unlock the next tier of biomes (Jungle, etc). I finally built the last cottage that pushed my population where it needed to go and ... things went wrong.

My Happiness and Education were both at 50% since the start of the game and I built two Gardens to get an additional +1% happiness (51 total). But as soon as I hit 2,500 population, it dropped to 1% Happiness and 25% Education? Health is at 100%. I have no Worship.

I know Health becomes a mechanic once you hit Level 15, but I could find nothing in the ingame guide or the wiki that mentions a happiness drop as your population increases

Probably season change. Each season gives different buffs / debuffs to your township stats.

I think you are in winter season.

Oh! I somehow didn't pay attention to the seasons, that's exactly it.
It's actually Summer now - I had +50% from Spring, which went away. Not looking forward to winter, then.

A tip: in winter you shouldn't ever repair your town, the cost is extremely increased and not worth repairing at all if you care about your gold.

Happiness doesn't really matter early on as population will only affect building unlocks to build and the XP per hour. So don't pay too much attention to it. You can't brick the town in any way.

Simply do not repair in winter. Healing the population is ok and building is also fine but repairing is a nono
