Township makes no sense!
I can't be the only one struggling with the township implementation. It's just a bunch of numbers with little or no explanation.

I have a population of 14 and 0 workers. I have no idea how to assign workers, nor is there any clues in the UI.

Talking of UI, it took me an age to realise that "Buy more land" was actually actionable. It is greyed out, and appears inactive.

I'm disappointed in this so far.

Follow the tutorial. the UI is a bit overwhelming but it's not actually that complicated. It's mainly about balancing your resources.

Make sure youre building enough food for the population as you increase it and make sure you are upgrading your wood and your stone so you can afford the other stuff, and your storage as well to hold it. One you get 200 population you can get a trading post and funnel your regular resources into the town, which will speed things up a ton.

Well, I invested 1000000000 in the city. What do I have? 24000 every 5 minutes. Plus, this stupid idea with the aging of people, when with a population of 4000, 1700 can work, moreover, priorities do not work with aging and people begin to starve and happiness cannot be reduced in any way to reduce health for dying, the only thing that saves mechanics with corpses, remove all cemeteries and there will be happiness

If I understand correctly you need cemeteries to remove dead people instead. At certain amount of ticks some percentage of dead people will be removed, the amount depends on cemeteries capacity.

Every day (288 ticks) 20% of dead storage capacity of dead people is removed.

I promise you, regular games of this genre are far more complicated. If you don't like it, you dont have to play it!
For starters, strip away all those biomes at level one. Have them unlockable at certain levels of township, like level requirements for smithing bars.
Straight up delete all the crap about citizens ages and replace it with a profession screen where you can allocate citizens to work in different professions.
Lastly, add something that isn't boring as hell for a reward.

I'd suggest joining the Melvor discord. Alot of active members and help on specific topics

Just want to echo I have no idea how to work this skill from following the tutorial. All of my population is in farmland and I have no wood to build further shelters to increase population and hope someone by random chance? goes into the woodcutter camp so I have softlocked the skill in 5minutes.

I also find the township system a bit awkward and out of place, but it's one of the few places I can get gold in the early stages of the game:zagcry:

I see Population (14/14)
Available workers (0/6)
Food (6/20)
Wood (0/5)

Wood is highlighted in Green and yet it's collecting zero resources.

They've over complicated this.

Overcomplicated? Nah, make sure you have every necessity ,and you don't have full storages. In these cases yeet resources. However it is a tedious skill.

I am so confused by this, I have 0 gold, but I'm able to buy land that apparently costs 20 gold at this point. Is land free? What the hell is going on. I haven't played Melvor in about 6 months and came back specifically to try township.

Also, every time I build a farmland, my food goes down instead of up. What are these lazy farmers doing?

The gold in Township is just what you've earned. It takes GP from the main game.

It's actually weird that it is gold from Township. Can you reset the township, get all your ticks back doing that and earn another bunch of gold by developing it and spending all your ticks again? Or does it remember how much you earned the last time and only gives you amount above it?

The tutorial threw me. It took forever to figure out you had to manually pass time to get more resources.

That's honestly the worst part of the skill. Manually passing time wtf.

no you dont understand me, i hate this minigame because i have 70% people what age above 77 and they doesnt work and i haven't any new people and one thing what i can do with this have more than 1000 dead man's and 0 hapiness, so cemetries are so bad thing to build becouse they destroy your workers.

You hating minigame doesn't matter.

Cemeteries don't destroy workers. They remove only dead people and reduce happiness loss from them. If you have 70% old people building or removing cemeteries won't change anything. If you have 1000 dead people and no cemeteries you gain -5000 to happiness from having 1000 people over your dead people limit. If you build 4 cemeteries you reduce this penalty to 0 happiness from dead people and gain +40 from cemeteries themselves. If you have 0% happiness you gain minimal amount of skill experience per tick.

If you want your people dying early keep their health low. This will result in higher chance for people over the age of 55 dying before becoming 100 years old.
