Township makes no sense!
I can't be the only one struggling with the township implementation. It's just a bunch of numbers with little or no explanation.

I have a population of 14 and 0 workers. I have no idea how to assign workers, nor is there any clues in the UI.

Talking of UI, it took me an age to realise that "Buy more land" was actually actionable. It is greyed out, and appears inactive.

I'm disappointed in this so far.

Workers are assigned automatically so i haven't really had to worry about them.
Explaining how to do worker prioritisation, what ticks do/are could use better explanation in the township starter guide

It definitely has a learning curve attached. I didn't even notice the "buy more land" button for an age; I expected to at least see something about that in the tutorial missions.

Workers seem to be assigned a job when they join the town, probably only reassigning if their job is no longer available (building removed). You can prioritize a job for new population to fill by clicking on a resource button at the top of the screen.

i mean i get a warning to prioritize food and clicked it green, but the workers still arent assigned to any job even the wrong one. As a general rule unless you're absolutely confident your automatic systems are perfect taking away player agency is always the wrong move.

This sounds like a stupid question, but do you actually have somewhere for the new people to work? You can see the capacity for each job under its resource icon, if they are all full (20/20, 5/5.....) then you'll need to build additional work buildings before your workers can be assigned to them. Also workers only get assigned when you tick the town, so if you've just made a load of buildings you'll need to advance a tick for the workers to move into them.

Ticks are explained if you click on Township icon at the top of the screen. Basically each 5 minutes (doesn't matter online or offline) you get 1 tick. After that you can spend ticks making turns in this Township mode. It doesn't progress in real time, it only progresses when you spend ticks. There are some things that happen at certain time periods, like merchant arriving every 8 hours (96 ticks) and dead people being removed depending on size of your graveyard at certain amount of ticks too.

it is pretty confusing, maybe im just stupid but i've softlocked myself so many times and had to restart already. the miners pit is a weird hurdle, you need rocks to build it and other buildings but its also the only source of rocks so if you bought one farmland too many to supply the 200 people you require for a miners pit you're screwed.

Still clueless as to what is happening.

I see Population (14/14)
Available workers (0/6)
Food (6/20)
Wood (0/5)

Wood is highlighted in Green and yet it's collecting zero resources.

They've over complicated this.
It is STUPID.

yeah not a huge fan, probably just going to ignore it until I've completed the masteries in everything else, it's 100% the type of incremental game I ignore every time. quite the shame.

The only real hurdle i've experienced was figuring out you can buy more land.

I'm here at 1500 population and level 50+ Township so it's clearly working as intended. I'm not saying it's easy to understand but it's all very functional.

Good thing about township is you can do it passively while doing other skills, bad thing is it's a bit messy currently.

My main gripe is swapping between Town and Build to do things like demolish or upgrade. Especially since it doesn't maintain the biome selection so sometimes you build in the wrong place or have to click extra buttons to re-select the biome you were on in the other tab. The UI is certainly a bit messy.

Works about as well as any other City Sim game, especially Farthest Frontier if you have heard of this new one. Sure the interface is cluttered ill give you that/.... how else are they supposed to cram 100 town building and management elements onto a mobile interface?
I promise you, regular games of this genre are far more complicated. If you don't like it, you dont have to play it!
