How the hell do I get seeds?

I'm trying to plant some potatoes but I don't have seeds and upon googling, it says the best way is through thieving, well I'm been thieving from "man" for 15 minutes now and I've still not got a single seed... Annoyingly when I click on drops, the drops he gives are hidden so I don't even know if this dude drops seeds.

Also I've burned though like 30 shrimp healing myself because he has a 62% chance of stunning me every time...

Am I missing something?

Killing farmers or stealing from them works. Try to grind lower levels for thieving. Get goblin mask and sneak-ers. Those all increase your sneak. Also thieving gloves help too.

This is helpful, it actually tells you exactly what seeds drop from. So they were correct in saying thieving, but I need to pickpocket "bob the farmer" not "man".
