Higher level trees greater nest drop rate?

Hi should I cut noob trees to farm bird's nests, or does the chance to drop increase as I move on to the next tree?

With most 'extra' drops like bird nests the determination on whether you get the drop is based on task completion. So if you complete 5 tasks you have 5 chances and 1 task you have 1 chance - regardless of how long those tasks take. So farming faster, and often lower level, items get more extra stuff but the primary resource is generally a lot less useful.

That was one of the reasons the dev changed the way Woodcutting multi-tree chopping worked, it was allowing a disproportionately high number of task completions.
