I thought that it looked more like a mobile game now, so this confirms it
It didn't look like a mobile game before this update, there's your reference.
I think spacing and intuitiveness have taken a major step back in skills like Smithing and Township. The new icon-focused menus feel a little shortsighted seeing as there's a lot more nuance than just "click big icon". And the entirety of the UI update seems to be worked for 100% zoom only and falls apart fast for anything zoomed in more than that
I'm not pro or against it, I feel for those who hate it.... I just wish there were some screenshot comparisons or something so I can follow along with what all the hubbub is about because I've barely noticed anything minus a few odd things here and there.
I had bigger issues with the fact that Melvor doesn't disable mods before startup on new patches and can brick saves. That's weirder to me than UI changes. (I only use two mods, one I didn't even realize I left it on). Luckily I back up saves every so often. While I enjoy playing hardcore, I don't want to lose a character to patch updates.
In fact, I don't even know if these have always existed, but I just discovered things on the bottom right, like seeing the synergies that work for a particular skill filtered and which items you have that boost a skill. I've always just manually looked stuff up until now. I don't even know if taht stuff is new or not, but it's helpful to me.
