Level combat skills

I am at defense 88 and I need to get it to 100 to equip the next set of items as I'm currently wearing a dragon set.

But it's impossible. I leave it to play overnight, combatting enemies that I can't possibly die by, with more than enough food, but defense rises way too slowly, and I'm even 12 levels behind the goal.

Am I doing something wrong?
Is there any tips?
At the moment I'm farming potato seeds because I gave up on trying to level, but it's super sad because I wanted to do some higher level dungeons and stuff.

The more damage you do, the more Exp you get, so find an enemy that fits your need (preferably a Ranged enemy, as you'll get additional bonuses against those), so you spend more time in actual combat, instead of killing enemies in one hit. That would make you spend too much time on waiting for respawns.

I am currently in the same boat, it simply takes a lot of patience :-D

I don't want to dampen your spirits, but Until You Complete the Impending Darkness Event, you Cannot Equip Level 100+ Armor(s) & Weapon(s), unless you have already done so

Combat skills are very slow to level. I've been training nonstop on three of my characters for months, and I've barely gotten 120 on one skill.

And yeah, you can't equip the level 100 gear until you complete impending darkness anyway.
