Disproportionate township potions tasks (casual and main)
Why are casual tasks for potions tier 4 only? Every other task I've gotten feels achievable or near-achievable in a decent amount of time for where I'm at progression-wise, whilst the potions ones would require immense grinding over several days to hit 90 mastery each time they show up. My current casual task for 50 magic assistance potion IV would require me to grind over 20k holy dust... nothing else I've seen can even compare to that level of time investment to achieve.

i understand that potions cannot be downgraded so for people that *can* make tier 4s it wouldn't be fair if it asked for a lower tier they could no longer make, but it'd feel far far better imo if you can simply submit any potion tier. Perhaps it could have a scaling cost so those that can make lower tiers need to use more potions?

Actually, whilst I'm on the topic of potion tasks, they feel oddly balanced in general. 300 bones, big bones and holy dust is a normal task, this is fine—but then in the same difficulty bracket you have a task for 100 divine potion IV, which would require me to grind out around 20k+ big bones and holy dust (plus the herbs) to hit the required mastery for tier IV. How are those comparable levels of difficulty at all? It's several times more of the exact same resources than what a task in the same tier asks for. All that for a measly 25k GP I could make in few minutes even in the early game...??? (Tbh most of the GP rewards for non-casual tasks feel far too small, but that's besides the point)

like you said its not possible to downgrade pots. the only way to get lower tier pots is using herblore pots. this hurts if you maxed that particular pots.

if you are looking for easier method for tier 4 pots simply use herblore pots (its slow but doesn't require heavy mastery spending), otherwise i just usually don't do casual task especially potions until.. well.. never, unless you need money/xp quickly. as long as you don't complete the tasks will not be removed but their reward scales with township level.

at 120 township giving 100 sardine gives 4.8mil gold.

As mentioned by the other person, the rewards scale with the level of your Township, but the main point of those tasks is for the resources... And honestly that really only matters if you're actively playing the Township which is kind of a waste of time in the first place imo. Interact with it once a day, repair it, buy new buildings (pay attention to the resources you need), just let it do it's thing and repeat.

The main reason to interact with the Township in a semi-active fashion is now nerfed into oblivion.

The tasks are a significant chunk of GP for me atm, township is my highest level skill. It's just that the potion tasks always have been and still are disproportionate in my opinion. On my very first day playing the game I got two casual tasks for tier 4 potions even!

Also, is the main point really the resources? The amount you get from them is not that much at all compared to what I could generate even at mid-level township. It feels like the main point is the GP and XP, unless you roll a do-able one in the early game that gives a chunk of herbs or something.

You still come out insanely gold-positive from the township at level 120, with max population (over 4million gp/hour most seasons, still over 1million gp/hour in Winter.)

Or are you complaining about the boxes, which give on average half their old contents - and are STILL insanely good at that rate - even if it takes longer to unlock them?

Granted, a still-levelling Township (or one capped at 99 because you're too cheap to buy Throne of the Herald) ... isn't great these days...

None of the above? Not be an ass but did you even read the thread title, let alone the contents of the main post? (I just changed the title a little to hopefully be clearer anyway) Nowhere do I mention any of the things you just did. I'm pointing out that the casual tasks for tier 4 potions (and also some of the main tasks involving tier 4 potions) feel disproportionate in terms of time investment/difficulty when compared to other tasks. Less of a complaint, because I can easily skip or ignore them, more of a suggestion that they feel imbalanced. I don't know if the developers look here though tbh.

you can just don't do it i think especially potions? there are still plenty of ways to make money. for township you can also buy potion box 1, open them and sell its content without upgrading.

there's also thieving. also can make you rich and you can also get useful equipment. the only requirement is you do some combat to level up hitpoints and you're good to go

Actually you can get Potion Boxes from Township to get T1 potions.

Potion Boxes from the Township are amazing for this fyi. I'd already made all 3 of the potions for the Easy task. Open like 10 potion boxes and got all the tier 1s I needed.

@Furoggu Given the circumstances, I would just either ignore the Potion tasks, or if you are able to, cancel them.

I've long since maxed township and reached a point where I can t4 a potion in 5 hours or less. Doesn't change the strangeness of it whilst on a newer character though.

Yeah, it is very easy to max once you get it going and have the resources to do so, so I am not surprised that you have since maxed it.
