Greater Hunting Dragon

I've tried looking up a lot of different posts and searching before asking, but im a bit stumped. I know wicked greater dragon uses confusion, but I am dying to Greater Hunting Dragon even though im above maximum damage with auto eat. Is the dragon breath tick and his attack going off simultaneously and doing more than the max calculated?

The ticks are consecutive so as long as you have enough food and HP to tank each hit you can heal between them.
Are you sure you have enough HP and stuff? Are you using Melee? I realise some of these questions may be insulting but don't know your build

do you have good damage reduction. prayers that can help dodge would be beneficial. Also remember the attack triangle melee beats range, range beats magic, magic beats melee. The town sells scrolls that reduce dragon breath damage. also find ways to remove the evasion lowering abilities of the terrain by using using various things such as slayer gear and agility and potions.
