Does your armor have any affect on the amount of damage you take while thieving?

If the armor gives Damage Reduction, then yes.

It will reduce the max hit from NPCs in Thieving.

If available, using the damage reduction based Prayers will also reduce damage taken while thieving, even better yet, you won't even lose prayer points when hit/stunned in Thieving, so it's like a permanent bonus

Been looking at damage reduction and have found that I need to upgrade my mithril set in order to receive the 3% defense bonus from it. Off to the gold mine :)
