I prefer to use "Two Handed" over "One Handed" weapons for training any of my melee combat skills, the only time I'd opt for a one hand weapon would be if I can one shot it fairly decently with 20% more damage than it's Max HP, otherwise I'm always using two hand weapons, I have a Dragon Scimitar I got as a drop, but I have yet to use it being that it still doesn't appeal to me vs a two hand max hit in difference
If training prayer, you definitely want to be using "Two Handed" weapons as you'd get a better damage output and XP, as prayer is based on how much damage you do plus the amount of prayer points you are using per hit, assuming you aren't using ones that state don't give XP at all
Rune 2H is what I am using for my Strength & Prayer training currently, until I can upgrade to higher versions, there is an weapon that focuses on the Attack Skill that is almost equal in stats and has a special attack that lowers it's attack interval, Elerine Spear, which you can get as a drop at the Elerine Battlegrounds of course as a chance drop from defeating the Elerine Warrior as a level 96 monster
If opting for "One Handed" weapons
Daggers: Defense/Block training
Swords: Attack/Accuracy training
Scimitars: Strength/Max Hit training
Then you have all the special weapons, won't state any, just too many to list
Good Luck & Have Fun
