Mysterious hardcore death

I was idling earth god dungeon as i have been for the last week, with plenty of food and runes equipped and upon returning after 5 hours my file simply disappears, claiming i have died. I have been away for 14 hours with the same amount of resources on hand and not died. I can't even see the circumstances of my death since the game just boots you to main menu, this is hella sus and i can't even confirm if i somehow had the wrong gear equipped. is there a way to get a snapshot of your character at point of death?

It's very frustrating to lose 7 months of progress and not even being told HOW i died

That sucks. And how i loset my first hc character. Idling away at dungeons. With HC's, always have a backup save available if you're doing something that might result in your death.

Make sure you are actually safe and not just almost safe. 5% chance for them to use a skill that might kill you if your hp is just a little wrong is still a chance to die.

I did. I've used the same setup to clear the dungeon like 2k times to farm bank slot tokens in preparation of the dlc. That's why i want confirmation regarding the circumstances of my death rather than just getting booted to main menu. Like how am i supposed to believe that a safe setup actually died?

The only thing I can think of would be accidentally running out of food, not having the option to switch to more food when you run out turned on, running out of DR pots if you were using them, or running out of prayer points if you were relying on a DR prayer to pad you up. Beyond that, I've got no idea.
