Why choose this over actual RuneScape?
It looks alright, but I feel the novelty would wear off pretty soon and I'd rather go back to RuneScape after...

What makes this worth playing over RuneScape?

I have over 12,000 days worth of hours in Runescape, but I put down the game as all my friends have since quit and the time Runescape came to Steam, I tried a year membership again, wasn't that exciting still, most people kept to themselves as the time I first stopped playing 5 years ago, has since felt the same, I made 2 friends in 3 months from then on, it felt lonely, even when speaking out with people, boring for me to play a game in which I had no friends to cope with

Around the year 2007 when I first started playing, the game was abundant, people were welcoming and helpful, huge difference, even though maybe Old School would be an ideal option for friends but I didn't feel like starting over, surely you can understand

Melvor Idle is an optional experience, for those that love idle games, which I totally love and it's one I spend hours on considering most I quit within a few days, and themed around Runescape I easily understand most of the concepts as it's generalized around it

The fact that I'm playing Runescape while this is on my other monitor :D

I'll admit idle games aren't for everyone but so far I'm really enjoying this. Plus it's got 3 modes to choose from and you can have multiple characters.

This is Runescape without the running about and constant clicking.

I prefer this since it has most of the principles of RS but without the insane time investment requirement

That's like asking if Hearthstone is worth playing over WoW. Different games, different audiences.

As someone who played RuneScape for many years, I'm actually enjoying Melvor Idle and am considering to buy premium, but only time can tell if I'm gonna continue playing this for long.

Ah, I see. Thank you for your well thought out answer!
You don't play this game over runescape. This is a idle game. you don't really actively play it. you play it for months and you get motivated by numbers getting bigger. You only do a few actions per day. You never say "Today I will spend the whole afternoon playing melvor idle"

I've never played Runescape and I never will. I like Idle Games so I will keep playing this. That's my reason.

Its like runescape but you dont actually have to click on stuff every minute.
