How do you drink potions?

Cant drink the Bird Nest potion from the bank nor the woodcutting screen.

You need to "equip" potions. When you're in the skill for which you want to use a potion, simply click on the potion icon in the upper right of the window (to the right of the Force Save button). That will bring up a list of appropriate potions that you have in your bank. That window also contains a checkbox for whether or not you want to automatically use another of the same potion once the current one is depleted.
