Why do magic trees take so long to cut?

Magic Tree is 100 XP / 10 sec, while Yew Tree which is a tier lower is 80 XP / 6 sec, and Redwood Tree which is a tier higher is 180 XP / 7.5 sec. Magic Tree has a terrible XP / sec relative to its tier, which doesn't make sense because every other tree's XP / sec is based on its tier. Is this a bug or is there a reason for this?

Magic logs sell for much much more than yew or redwood, yew and redwood are for XP magic is for gold making.

You don't cut magic for xp. you cut magic for gold. And it's very good passive gold income. Cutting magic and yew with the multi-tree upgrade is one of the best fully passive money makers.

The only time you'd want to cut magics are for gold (even though there are better, more gold lucrative things you could be doing with your time) or to buy the cooking upgrade, since you need 500 magics for it.

Best to just do Yews + Mahogany till 90, then Yews + Redwoods till 99.

Also, much like in regular runescape, higher tier'd resources usually don't yield a higher exp rate. Not surprising to see it here.
