Killing enemies in the Slayer Area, on the other hand, only provide Slayer exp (and other combat exp).
Note: While in game, if you click the [Combat] icon at the top of the screen, it will show a popup that explains all combat-related mechanics. This will explain the slayer rules as well as anything else you might not understand.
The icons for the other skills work the same way.
I suggest not extending your Slayer tasks until you're higher level in Slayer, you'll get more out of it later on, early on, especially killing low HP monsters will yield barely any and worse case lose out on those Slayer Coins
Dungeons don't count towards Slayer kills even if you are fighting an enemy in the dungeon that is named the same as the Slayer task, 'just in case that is what you were doing'
You should be able to see the number of Slayer Coins you currently have on the Slayer skill icon itself, in between the word 'Slayer' and the 'Slayer Level', optionally, if you open the shop, your Slayer coins will also be displayed next to your current amount of GP
You always have to get a new Slayer task after killing the said amount of monsters you were assigned, once the task is over you must get a new task otherwise what you're killing, you only earn combat xp and no more kills count towards Slayer
Later, there is an upgrade in the shop to enable automatically start a Slayer task after the initial Slayer task had finished
The amount of Slayer Coins you earn is based on the HP of the monster you are killing, the higher the HP the more Slayer Coins you'll earn
For every 10 HP monsters have, that equates to 1 Slayer Coin
