Where Do I Fish for Raw Magic Fish?

It unlocked but it doesn't show. Is it unlocked another way like barbarian fishing?

They are the top fish in the 'Secret Area' which is unlocked via the Message in a Bottle item which is a Special drop like gems and chests.

Any fish from any location.

Just remember to "use" the bottle once you fish one up, as it's not an automatic unlock.

No, it is a drop item similar to Junk, but from the 'Special' category instead.

any fishing action can earn the Message in a Bottle

My Hardcore & Standard Modes both have the bottle/secret area, but my main game I started and have 99 fishing and 100% mastery on Adventure Mode does not have the bottle, so it's just extremely rare it seems, just wait and soon you'll get it

Am I correct in thinking that to farm the message in a bottle i want to fish in the Trench of Despair which has the highest "special" drop rate (5%)? And presumably the lowest xp fish which has the shortest timer, in order to maximize odds? My fishing is level 85 - it seems strange to me that I have never seen this drop.

Yes, this is the case, the higher the special chance, the better your chances of receiving the item, and the time interval between catching fish will also increase this due to it being per action not by highest tier

[I've been farming Seahorses Recently for 24 hours, still haven't seen a Ring of Mastery, but have all other special items on all 3 game modes, either I'll get it, or it seems kind of weird, the special chance is 8% and Seahorses are from the secret area from the Message in the bottle, they take 1.2-6s with the highest tier fishing rod]
