Any tips for leveling Summoning?
Right now I'm leveling Summoning by making thousands of Leprechaun Familiars and using them while training Thieving. But at 24 exp a pop it's gonna be a long road. Anyone have any recommended ways to level Summoning?

If you want the "Skill" level to reach 99, it should be easy enough. If you can, just make lots of familiars for your discovered marks and make sure you always use them on skills and/or combat, since each creation AND use will net you some summoning points for the skill levels. Constantly using familiars will get you done in no time. For "Mark" levels, you also need to keep using the familiars since they drop at the mercy of the RNG Gods, so it's a grind. Now the "Mastery" are a different beast, since they only level from making them, and not from using them (as far as I know).

I was just going to search this myself as it seems crazy to me that you need 10 million XP for the Mastery Pool @ 2XP each, coupled with a 5sec craft. That's a heck of a lot of hours!

The Mastery Pool XP should go up as you level the familiars mastery. The highest level for a familiar I got is level 90 which produces 273XP (this includes some boosts from Agility and equipment). But you are right, that it will still take tons of crafted familiars to reach that 10 million mark.

Really all I did was let the Summons guide me. If I unlocked a Summon that required a specific skill then I just used that skill till it was done or I unlocked a different Summon that I wanted to do more. Eventually, I just went back and cleaned up the few that weren't Max Marks which took me to level 98 so I just ground out the rest of the level and was done.

I didn't focus too much on the XP or anything from the Summons I was using since I knew I had to do all of them eventually just to get full Marks. Once I had of them I just made some quick money with the Leprechaun and the Goblin Thief to round out the skill.

Has anyone had an issue where you use the marks (say in combat) but it's not giving any summoning xp?

Using the tablets up in combat doesn't give summoning XP, which seems silly to me given how expensive and slow it is to create tablets.

Using Familiars, in any situation whether combat or non-combat, DOES give Summoning XP and always has.

In fact, the XP you get for consuming the Tablets is generally better than the XP you get for making them. Although, you do not get Mastery XP from any source but Tablet creation.

Mine's at 98/99 and alls I did was craft tablets for whatever skill I was actually planning on using, then make sure that tablet is equipped while using that skill. I think most of my summoning skill came from fishing, actually.
