Amulet of looting drop rate % ?
Hello, I am creating a thread here since I have little confidence in the accuracy of the Wiki page and hope someone here may shed some clarity into the matter.

I have gone through roughly 75 chests now from the spider dungeon and not once have I seen the Amulet of looting. According to Wiki its drop rate was 1 in 22 or 4.55% . I do not know whether my luck is extremely bad or the drop rate is actually far different than what is reported. Some videos I watched on youtube people would go through 150+ chests trying to get one drop which lends me to the idea that the amulet drop rate is far more rare than the 4.55%

Which I am confused as to why it is so hard to get the amulet in the first place? If the game is meant to be Idle, why is loot restricted to merely player interaction and not a base feature--let alone one that is much more easily obtainable. My combat lvl is 76 and I'm finally able to grind the dungeon fast enough to not run out of food after a few runs.

I'm playing on Adventure Mode too I should add, so maybe that changes some mechanics. But after about 1 chest every 6-8 minutes, I find it very time consuming to have already gained 75 chests with nothing to show for it.

If someone knows the true drop rate and could enlighten me I would really appreciate it. If a developer sees this, I am just positing a question for why the auto loot is not included. I leave my machine running to idle the game which consumes power and etc, and im fine with that, but I dont play idle games just to sit there and click a button every 10mins. I like having a strategy and slowly watching progress...

You're just unlucky.

It's not that rare at all when you compare it to other items in the game.

And Offline Combat is on the way so leaving your computer on isn't really an issue soon.

You should join the Discord server so you can see all the discussions around many parts of the game, there's even a dedicated channel to frequent suggestions that you can read which has information on the Amulet of Looting.
I'd like to add, the items that show up in the preview of the chest, are actually in order of rarity of chance to obtain the items, from top the most common and the lower you go, the most rare, I too have had similar bad luck in all 3 game modes, but eventually I got it, even on Adventure mode, I got all the items except the amulet of looting, on my hardcore, I got it within 25 chests, so it just varies
Thank you for the fast response! I will grind again after a night of fishing/cooking.

Wish me luck!
Hello,

Just got it on 1rst try, incredible luck or I lack something ?

So it can be done pretty fast once you can fight them, did it with 40 armor and 50 attack skill.

It's not that rare; you're just unlucky going for that particular drop. There are much more rare drops you'll be going for, that in their own right are rare drops, and after your 500th opening, you'll ask yourself, "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, what's the drop rate on this?"
I just got a drop for an item that wiki says is 1 in 1 million (unless im reading it wrong), but for the item to be useful you need a special gem to go with it which also has the same drop rate lol. I guess the amulet of looting is small fry stuff

Both the gem and crown have a very low drop rate but they both drop off a ton a different stuff. Even though the chances a lower to get it, you perform the checks so often that it seems less rare.

Wait till you are trying for the two halves of the ring :D
I'm looking for half b which is the combat side lol. Grinding my combat lvl up so I can craft some dragon armor soon. The upgrades to armor were a huge buff to my combat ability too--didnt upgrade anything until I was already combat lvl 80
Can you do the spider dungeon with combat level 72?

The Spider King has a max hit of 142 in a single hit. Do you think you can handle that? What tier of "auto eat" do you have? If you want to idle it, plug in your info into this site to see if you can handle idling it:

https://silberdrachi.github.io/CanIIdle/

you really only need Auto Eat tier 1 technically, anything else is just a bonus to consume less food than needed, as if you hover over the Auto Eat Indicator, it tells you what HP you auto eat at anyways, so if that number is less than that of the spider king, then you have a ways more to go, either more HP levels or equip gear with damage reduction to meet the prerequisites to fight the spider king without dying
Once you are beyond the threshold of being killed, you merely need to have a large source of food. I have yet to unlock farming on my character, but fishing and cooking seems to do a good job.

When I grind I try to keep around 8,000 + food at a time. Higher quality food, the better.

When I first attempted I had auto-eat tier 2, and have since unlocked auto-eat tier 3. It makes life so much easier.

In line to Cooking, don't forget to maximize the healing, not just Tier 3 Auto Eat, 95% Mastery Pool for +10% healing for all food as well as, 99 Mastery in any food for +20% extra healing also

This is actually wrong. Higher tiers of auto eat also have your character start eating at a higher HP thresh hold, making auto eat one of the most important upgrades to being able to idle more content. What doesn't matter is how much healing food does, or how good it is. I'm using carrots for god dungeons because I have hundreds of thousands of them. As long as your auto eat thresh hold is higher then the damage an enemy can deal in a single hit, it doesn't matter even if you're using cooked shrimps, you won't die as long as you have tons of food.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
