Why the hell is the progress stored in your browser Cookies?
Whats next? Saving your files permanently in your windows temp folder???
Jesus. This needs to be fixed.
huh this is the steam version not browser version.game saves by the cloud, dont it?:winter2019surprisedyul:
It is almost like we just had this conversation.

Do you have a Cloud Save?

Yes, Saves in Steam version are stored in cloud.
Cloud version is 2000H behind.

And 2H after i reset my browser for a cleanup my Save progress is gone.

How is your save 2000 hours behind when you only have 616 hours in the game?
Because its not playtime but time in generall that im talking about. That save is from 66Days ago....
over 2 months without pressing the save button, is that a new record?
Well i trust local save more than cloud save if done correctly.
Sadly this game is an exception.

But as always people defend a broken game mechanic and say the user is at fault.

Well, considering the only people that ever seem to lose it are people like you. Ones that intentionally dont use the cloud save or back up their local one and then come here whining to everybody about how the Big Mean Game is being so very mean to them.

In reality, it is their own fault for being so short-sighted and uninformed. They come here complaining because their own choices led them to this situation and they are trying so HARD to make it the games fault - when everybody knows it isnt.

As you said in your initial post, "Otherwise i will be dropping this game." - looks like its time for you to move on. Dont think you will be missed.

it takes literally 1 second to click force save, I do it everytime I'll close the game, I'm genuinely curious why people don't do this
Instead of helping me recreate my save or whats causing the problem you guys are only crying about me not using Cloud Save. Classical Steam Community.
I'm not crying about you not using Cloud Save, I'm sorry it happened to you, I know how frustrating that can be (already learned that lesson long ago, so nowadays I always use every single backup option avaiable in any of the idle games I play)

I don't think it's within anyone's ability to restore your save, except Malcs. You should try contacting him, perhaps there is a workaround. I'm afraid the only thing I personally can do is to advise you and everyone else to use every saving mechanism avaiable in the future.

@Dev

Perhaps the cloud save feature could be improved? To my knowledge, the cloud save only activates once every few hours, right? But does that only occur during continuous online play? Specifically, do you need to keep the game open for a few hours to get the auto-save feature to occur?

If so, my suggestion is to keep track of when the save last occurred (in real-life hours, whether online or not). When the player logs in to the game, if their last cloud save was more than {x} hours ago (such as more than 12 or 24 hours), perform an automatic cloud save to insure it's up to date.
Wow. I can't help myself from clicking the cloud save button every time I look at the games window, I can't imagine not clicking it for literal months.
