It's a valuable alch when it's fully combined (wait till item alchemy 3 for 5 million x 1.60) so do save any extras and hope for a duplicate. A lot of us save at least 2 before that so that that 1 can serve as a bank placeholder, while you wear the other one.
Also, save the charges after you get it for the harder to come by things.. such as when you finally make diamond luck potions for god dungeons (wait till after 99 herblore to make them too so you get 2x potions by wearing the cape).
Just keep going on the right skills for a jewel drop and eventually you'll get it.. I think I did combat for almost a month before I got other half of signet and now I have 4 full rings. You get there eventually with everything in the game :)
