They are almost the same, but just a little improvement on graphic, physic, camera movement, etc.
Yea it's almost the same. A bit more refined plus new extra Rallies. Up to you on the purchase though. I'm good with WRC 8 for the time being.

Try the WRC mods from racedepartment. It radically improves graphics (not just shaders) physics and many small details.

WRC 9 had much better car handling and better FFB through the wheel , definitely worth the upgrade for me , way more enjoyable to drive the cars.

WRC 9 is muuuch better than WRC 8. The car handling has become so much better and there is such a lot online stuff like clubs and weekly and day challenges. + the new rallys like New Zealand, Japan and Kenya. Plus the 12 new stages in Finnland and Portugal added as free DL content. There is a challenge mode too. It´s absolutly worth...

Codemasters bought the WRC license for 5 years (=there was hope for DiRT Rally 3.0 in 2022).

But, then EA bought Codemasters. So, bad luck.

Watching the real-world Kenya Rally 2021 live stream this week/end - there is no current Rally 'video game' that captures this kind of extreme surface. Do point me to a game that does that (except, maybe some 4x4 wheel arcade ... racers?).

I'll buy ANY GAME, that does that. (Imagine SpinTires/Mudrunner as a Rally racer?!)

It would also be a 'bad' business decision to make a game for 'us' - 2-5% hardcore sim fans, when every dev studio and publisher have to sell to the console market mainstream public, to make money and satisfy the license holder, catering to an audience who want 'full throttle fun', instead driving a broken car like a 'Dark Souls of Rally racing' sim stage.

Maybe KT can experiment after WRC10, when they lose the license (pressure) and do something ... extraordinary?

u can mod assetto corsa for rally. the really good rally tracks made by sim traxx. if u want to go rally sim try assetto corsa modding.

Is it possible to just do a race weekend with all stages of a location? It's either whole career or whole season. In "quick play" there's single stages only. Former games offered an "All Stages" page of a certain location.

look up BAJA: edge of control. apparently youve been missing out badly, its not a perfect sim, nor does it look next gen, but if youre as diehard about long distance rally/baja then youll love this game.
