Besides, you can't reach the end of the map in the demo. It ends about halfway in.
If you suicide your character on the special "detour" level, you will start another character back at base with all the progress you've made.
I've taken advantage of this loophole and I've seriously enjoyed what's already implemented.
So far, it's only akin to a mobile-game with 3 levels + suicide level, but I'm looking forwards to the harder difficulties and content.
Seeing that the end of the map is the HERC hq, I assume so too.
But, this may be from my misunderstanding (please correct me if I'm wrong)... how are we helping the next character when we drop everything at death?
At least from the demo, I just ended in a death loop where I couldn't find any fuel and I was stuck in a small town with nothing...
Do we get better characters each time we die?
You have not bothered to read any of the dialogue in base, have you?
You also collect something akin to gym bags (i only found them looking like this) full of resources that will help people back at base. When you're in the base you can use those resources to unlock/buy more features for your characters, like a weapon drop giving your armory 4 Glocks, or an ammo cache. You can also buy insurance, so you'll get some of the stuff your last character had back when they die. There'll probably be more of this features in the full realease.
And i think that's it ? At least for now/that's what i found
Also that's just HERCs blockade, and as the leader (?), the woman that sends you off/is behind your car, said, you HAVE to get behind the barrier, so my best guess is that the barrier might only be a part of the journey, like half or maybe even a one third/fourth of the whole game.
(Maybe you'll be able to reinforce it as an outpost and it'll act as a shortcut ?)
