If the connection is blocked or even there is no internet, and Epic Launcher is in offline mode, the game will not load into the main menu, it is loading endlessly, waiting for a connection.
I wanted to buy the Steam version of the game after trying it on EGS, but now I will never buy anything from them.
How it works:
This single-player game, when launched, immediately tries to connect to its servers and also to cloud unity, and epic online service. Then, if you allow the connections, it opens your Internet browser, in which it asks to link it with your Epic Games account
and accept their (Devs) license agreement. At the same time, it wants to get rights to your data (impose its license agreement to apply to your account).
There is a huge list of access, such as your online status, use of your data, etc. I deleted the game and do not remember this entire list in detail.
But here's what's important, if you click cancel on the request - Then yes, the game will start and you will be able to play once. If of course you did everything described above and you had the Internet. But if you turn off the game and then start it again, then it will try to connect to the servers again, and will ask for access again.
Without the Internet, it goes into an eternal loading and does not even enter the main menu, as described in previous posts. Which is unacceptable for a single-player game.
the first time i tried this game earlier, my web browser took forever to load so the game eventually allowed its stupid self to actually LOAD. put a few hours of gameplay into it. then now i relaunched it, and its prompted me to go through the tutorial again? i really hope i didnt lose my progress... FFS epic game store ruins everything.
edit. ♥♥♥♥ this game with epic game store. it reset my ♥♥♥♥ because i wasn't in 'online' mode earlier after i sunk in a few hours. i tried it a moment ago through epic, and 'online' this time, and it reset me back to zero.
If you got the game for free from Epic then you linked epic and registered to Armor Games then that's your problem lies and we cant do anything about it
i know, if against data collection we should all take a stand and not allow it, but that boat sailed long ago when people either didnt care or were unable to push back against it many years ago.
they can gather anything, according to the vague, noninclusive, ambiguous, ... agreements.
