A question about Fire damage

Is there a way to mitigate fire damage?

2 of my runs ended in Hell (1h+ on each), because my left pinkie touched a fire pit and it is quite frustrating. The damage is so high and ticks so fast that i cant heal against it. i've tried rolling (rolled 3 times) in hope that would put it out but it doesn't. Is fire meant to be a one-hit-kill mechanic to make a run more difficult or am i just incompetent?

Rolling does i believe, it seems to work sometimes, I will roll once and usually nothing happens then the second or third roll and it drops off. I need to try this again because I thought about this and I am now 50/50, will try to hug fire my next run to check.

Wow that was a hot embrace! but ya, rolling for sure made it fall off much faster

Yeah, but be careful of your encumbrance. If you are encumbered, you'll use more evade stamina until the point you deplete it and can no longer roll. I had 2 runs ended because of this mishap.

You could simply, exit to main menu and return back to the same location but you risk losing progress from the current location
