Lesson learned from our (unexpected) death...
Just wonder, what's your most favorite lesson learned from your (survivor) death?

And here's mine...

  • You are going to die a lot. I mean, A LOT.
  • Armored charger is mean. One shot my 68 hp survivor.
  • If you gonna blow up oil tank, stay the hell away ! ( just killed my 84 hp survivor in Hell 50% with it)
  • Select a new survivor and get over-encumbered immediately = you just recovered a large sum of ammo ! ( i.e. 1.8k 5.56mm alone is enough for over-encumbered you)

"Don't try to aim the grenade launcher at a further away zombie while a second one is much closer to you in the same firing line."

Don't ever try close range with the big muscular guy.
Watch out for wire trip mine

What I learn from my death.
Melee weapon is OPs especially combat knife
for example at late game
I use bunch of bullet to kill skinny skeleton guy but can take it down with just few swings

combat knife have decent damage but fast attack speed
pair with perk attack speed/melee damage/stamina cost
this little guy can be your best weapon
I usually use combat knife to strip armor and kill tank zombies
but it it drop from military zombies, at first zone it quite a bit hard to find.

What I learned
  • There are runs you die slowly, and then there are these runs you just get insta killed. Most of the time those insta-kills are due to you still having to learn something so just learn and try again.
  • Some runs are way more easy then others. In those runs, get as much upgrade points as possible to make other harder runs more fun.
  • Don't fight the game, flow with it. Certain tactics are just not worth it. If it doesnt work, you die. But if you like that style of gameplay and want to continue using it, you have a problem: you will die. A lot.

The Milkor is fun but you're gonna catch a sprinting zombie in the face with it and blow yourself to ♥♥♥♥.

If you're on a last location, under turret fire hiding behind boxes while in crouch, don't try to heal... coz it will make your hero stand up (f*cking ridiculous bug/feature) and catch a bullet instantly. Shame.

Best weapon is the SR -110, one hit kills those Armoured solider zombie

Encumbrance doesn't matter whatsoever, so just pick everything you find, the penalty is barely noticeable

Then make sure you always plan your route through the merchant to sell all that junk and for extra ammo and batteries (and extra knowledge)

Pay attention to electric poles, they often drop electric components which you can convert to batteries with 1 scrap

Also pay attention to cars, they can drop batteries

Always take ammo supplies for yourself, don't send them back to the colony
Unless it's shotgun ammo, shotguns suck due to insane recovery preventing dodge after shooting

Keep one weapon of each ammo type (... except a shotgun)

Always craft a few herbal antidotes in case you get trapped by a boomer

Can bombs and molotov cocktails are useless. Two handed axe is the melee to go. Glock is for weak zombies, SR-110 is for armored ones and do not waste ammo on bosses. This is what i have learned.

immediately level up the Knowledge tree first, I leveled it after using up like 200 Knowledge and if I had used it first i'd be like halfway through every tree atm lol

also stay the hell away from the boomers, their damage isnt the worst but the infection they give you is debilitating

I died from a grenade thrown outside of the sandbags, while I ran indoors at the H.E.R.C outpost :-P and a lot from mines and a few from shotgun traps. And for the love of fudge, NERF "Rags" drops jebus. Edit: Oh yeah also died because I forgot to pause when the doorbell rang and a charger just pwned me on the back of a truck with the antiviral box :-P Oh yeah a tip for the Armored Charger - Pound on him with a warhammer, until he loses the last piece of armor(he will use a double punch); then roll back and do the rest with a rifle.

The electrical generators that have lights on top of them can be looted for scrap and batteries. When choosing between something military and something not military, always go military. Batteries only go to antidotes for longer runs. Shotguns are borderline useless until you get the semi-auto variant.

I learned 3 things:

Suppressors are king, get an ar suppressor and a pistol suppressor and you can just dominate maps repeatedly without triggering enemies as you can 1 tap them from a distance with damage upgrades.

SR110 and anti material rifle are queen, screw you armored chargers, i can gun you down before you get close and i don't have to bother stripping off their armor first.

Propane and Propane accessories are present but rare.

"Hmm shiny new gun in my hand" or "Let's switch this gun with an other in my inventory"
And then you forget to reload...
