No, it's exactly like the "mission select world", as people above me said; DAH2 is an "open world" game as much as the first DAH was, just with bigger maps/locations and more to do in them. So, no GTA (and the like) style one huge map.

That's not true. 2 follows the GTA style of choosing between multiple missions/side missions while leaving the world open in between aside from the first mission you play in a map.

You're completely wrong about it being exactly like DAH1. DAH2 is not open world but the levels are rather large and open, and you can complete multiple missions without ever seeing a load screen.

2 is like 1 but the free roam outside of missions is a lot fun with the bigger maps, more different locations, and just an all around upgrade from the original.

You can free-roam in the 1st game without doing a mission... how do you think that the side missions are done lol? you cant do side missions if you're currently on a mission. There are two options when clicking on a map, there is 'Start Mission' and there is 'Explore Area', click on 'Explore Area' to free-roam. The 'Start Mission' option wont even appear if theres no missions available on the selected map. You've clearly never played the game before if you dont know this.
The 2nd game is inherently free roam because the missions start from travelling to a certain point on the map within the open world.

sorry mr attitude banana and yes I have played this game before when I was a kid, which was an extremely long time ago so I'm obviously not going to remember everything about it
