what haa?
I saw such approach when I forced to upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows XP to be able just to have a sound in Team Fortress 2 game by Valve after just another update (same hardware).
Then I saw the same when I forced to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 to be able to play modern games at that time (bought new PC).
You cannot stop the progress in general. And such general progress demands new technologies which means new hardware and software in gaming industry. Sad but true.
According to Steam Hardware & Software Survey, Windows 7 has less than 10% in popularity. Sad but true ver. 2.0.
So I kindly suggest you to consider some ways to upgrade to Windows 10. Which definitely requires some hardware upgrade or even new PC / notebook.
I live almost in the same region as original topic creator where economy is not in good finacial state and people do not have much free money but you barely find another approach to play modern games other than that.
Good luck.
Or just wait for reviews from other players to see if it works on Win7.
It's not always about the cost of Win10. That OS version has a lot of problems that Win7 either doesn't have or that Win7 is better able to avoid or deal with.
When Microsoft forces everyone to use Windows 11 will you make the same arguments of blocking "progress"?
I only say that game developers usually have other important things to do with their games than testing on ancient Operating Systems like Windows 7. In other words, nobody tests on Windows 7 which does not automatically mean that a particular game does not work on Windows 7 or 8. That's why officially only Windows 10 or 11 are supported.
