If you don't have access to it currently, you will as you progress through the main story, there will be a white robot icon next to a saucer location, just talk to the robot and you'll get the special upgrade to suck up humans, the Abduct-O Beam isn't the feature for the gene blender

Afterwards this is how it works
You have to select one of the regional objectives in the gene blender section to track it, plus you have to be in that specific region for it to count towards it, you can only track one at a time also, once you're done, just enter the gene blender from your ship and make sure to claim your upgrade reward

Good Luck & Have Fun :smiling:

You have to switch to the gene blender, is a weapon, you do it with by holding the "Lb" button in the controller (L1 for dualsense, I think?).

Beware, some of the enemies you have to collect don't appear until later in the game, like in the first are the KGB agents only start appearing in the alcatraz island up until much later in that stage.

You need to set it to track whichever goal you're trying to meet, and it will only count towards that one goal. Then, you need to land and pick "blend" on it once you've reached 100% collection on all the sub-goals. You can change goals and it will keep the progress on the older goals. So, just flying around collecting everything like the old version doesn't work, but the goals are smaller. 20 vs. 50 hippies, and the like.

It's annoying, and I'm pretty sure the tutorial text says it's supposed to work differently, but there you go.
