I had bad stutters in the starting mission but then they went away after that

Performance is a bit inconsistent in DX12 mode for me too although the game seems to run mostly fine with the odd stutter so it isn't too bad considering this is likely an unoptimised pre-release build (the game is not out until August). G-SYNC helps a lot in keeping the game feeling smooth to play even with sub-60 fps drops.

You can run the game in DX11 mode by right-clicking on the game in the Steam library, selecting Properties and adding -dx11 to the Launch Options under the General tab. On my PC, I get a few FPS more than DX12 and the game seems to run a lot smoother without any stutters. Clearly, the stutters in DX12 mode are due to the infamous shader compilation issue that seems to afflict a lot of Unreal Engine 4 games... unfortunately.

We talk about the demo....

Same thing every time...
I mean what do you want people to say. I've had no problems playing this so far. You can't judge every comment like that to be "blindly defending" it.

Well OP should really state their specs if they are making a feedback report.
Just to add
I-5 @ 3.5
GTX 1070
16 gig ram
Win 10
Runs really well at max settings. That was auto selected.
I did limit frames to 60 for my TV/monitor HDMI input
Turned off motion blur and depth of field <hate those things>

Game ran solid. Actually much better than I expected. I did notice some micro stutters here and there <like one hitch then play for a while but the hitch was probably less than a tenth of a second> but no where near anything I would consider unplayable. More like hardly noticed until I read this thread and thought about it!

So IDK maybe newer hardware is having more issues? Or turning off what I did or limiting frames made a big difference? Or maybe a single hitch for a fraction of a second is just too much for some people?

I guess more feedback might help?

"OP should really state their specs"
*proceed with the most inaccurate way to tell their CPU*

It's a core speed and SOMETHING ... and miles more than OP gave ha ha

I didn't have bad performance but for some reason i think one of the fans reved up in the main menu where i was getting like 270 FPS.

I did a comparison with HITMAN 3 because i get 300 FPS in menus in that game and my fans did not rev up in that game.

I also checked temps and fan speeds and everything seemed good.

Not sure what was happening.

I am wondering if it was perhaps the PSU fan that was reving.

Has anyone had similar issues ?

Ran this on on all ultra settings an not a single stutter on a 2060 super. couldn't recreate any issues. Outdated drivers maybe? try without v-sync in border-less windowed, maybe that will help, :cryptothink:

Anyone can check any youtube playthroughs of this and clearly see there's hitching and stuttering. I played the demo myself, same thing.

Your PC isn't special. It's shader compilation stutter.

No stutter on my steam deck but stutter on my computer haha.

My computer stuttering too, especially when it is on the saucer. It's nearly unplayable then

im running it at max settings 1080p constant 60fps like i do with all games no problem. I dont know what my actual fps would be though as i capped it to 60fps. Sounds like you need to get a better computer because i can run it just fine and my computer isnt that high end
