Are Service Missions active in the current game?

Hi all, as above.
Started playing a few days ago, wanted to try something different so ground up to the Fixer (glad I kept the save game before I bought it, right now, tbh) but I don't get any service missions in Rost.
I've read previous posts, tried the resting trick, resting a whole day several times and checking after each one, still just hauling.
Posts talking about service missions seem dated from May-Jul of last year, so they clearly were around, and given 0.8 brought out new service ships, seems odd that they aren't in the game. Nothing in the road map regarding Service missions.
Is there something I'm missing? do I need to look in places other than Rost?

you are right - it looks a bit odd .. (to add a new ship type - without specific missions)

- but, even before 0.8 - in 0.7.5 - devs decided to omit certain things
- including service missions .. (other big thing being tutorials)

ATM - you can do small cargo missions with tier 3 service boat (Skomcat ?)
- same for Skarven and Fixer ..
(good way to "chase miles" - needed for licenses ..)

P.S.
my suggestion - look just "pinned" posts from devs - read carefully their posts
for each update - you will "get the picture" - their reasons and intents ..

oh yes - and "Events" sub forum - same thing - look for posts from devs
- minute details about small patches and major updates ..
