Waves are crazy fun.
I am out here net fishing in whitecaps and it is amazingly cool and thrilling. Thankfully with net fishing you can be miles away from your nets and still pull them in.

Best update ever don't remove them. If anything make a setting in the options for people who want calm waters this is crazy cool and fun to deal with. My boat almost spun like a football being thrown off of the waves so I learned to not go full speed when its bad lol.

It's crazy fun, and scary realistic at the same time. Judging from my time commercial fishing, the oceans never looked more real in a game. The wind really pushes you around along with getting battered by the waves. Welcome to mother ocean! She takes no prisoners.

Yeah right...

Having personally experienced being in a 14' runabout in the Atlantic gingerly bouncing off the top of each giant wave and then having the engine conk out. Then suddenly finding yourself under a verboding sky with waves all around so you can't see the horizon except for brief glimpses when the boat crests the wave. Then imagine puttering up and over every wave to get back to shore because there is no way to get any momentum back. That is what I experienced firsthand and SAS does a scary job of reminding me of it.

I was laughing out loud last night from almost going airborne, so same here. It's annoying at times and hysterical at others -- guess it depends on how mission/goal oriented I am at the time.

I have to agree it does seem like the water is never calm anymore. Making the trip from Vaeroy to Rost right now and auto pilot is useless because of the waves so its an hour long manual drive in endless waves.

I love how bad the waves can get now, they may need to tune it a little so that it is calm more often, not less severe, just calm more often, unless in real life the sea is always like this. I am all for realism.

Maybe even the boats just need some tuning so that they are not such a mess in the waves if the waves are realistic in size.

Just took 3 RT hours to make a delivery to Skomgvaer, think ill sit out until they polish it up. The waves were out of control and the steering unresponsive 30% of the time. The boats need powered up to deal with the waves.

The waves are awesome but they do make everything more difficult. I could write a wall of text about my observations and ideas for improving it but mainly my hope is that the epic waves will remain because it makes the Ocean seem amazing and intimidating.

There probably needs to be more periods of time where the waves are calm (right now its never calm) and they may need to zone off more areas from the larger waves where those small islands end up getting hidden under them when they swell and the marker Buoys end up floating in the air with their chains exposed when the large waves recede and it just looks off.

I was transporting cargo last night and ramping nearly 30 feet in the air on the Dr. Phil. It was awesome lol. I think the boats could be tweaked to not get as airborne or make them heavier to add a more realistic effect. The waves are fine tho.

I agree, spent several hours delivering cargo today and the more I experience the new waves the more I love them. Nothing wrong with using a little skill in managing them to not flip over. Haven't tried to long line fish let alone in the smaller fishing boat yet, that may be an ordeal.

LOL this isn't true. You're not out in 30ft swells 24/7. This is coming from someone that has actually been on the ocean regularly

You are correct. I've also spent time crossing the Atlantic a few times. Some people find normal waves to be boring and prefer large storm waves 24/7 because they're more fun.
