Maybe, but I mean it in relation to the feeling of speed. It seems like it's going much faster than it should. Games that give an excellent feeling of speed are Silent Hunter, U-boat, Destroyer: The u-boat Hunter, and even GTA V.
Yes, either way it seems like there is something wrong with the physics. But it must evolve over time.
They still have 2 years of work on it so there is still plenty more that will be added.
I'm a fisherman irl, our 45ft fishing boat goes 8-9knots. Our fishing grounds are 70NM away. It takes us about 9-10hours to get there, depending on the tide.
most commercial vessels are slow. most merchant ships only got 15 to 17knots. ships that go faster are military or military supply ships. some smaller oilrig supply boats go pretty quick. but in general most merchant ships are slow. its very costly to have engines that can push a boat up to 25 or 30 knots. plus they will eat up fuel which costs a fortune when u are filling up tanks that hold thousands of gallons. i work on anchor handlers and full power it goes about 17 knots or so. usually cruising at 12 to 14 knots depending on sea conditions. white hull boats are usually slow. grey hull ships are much faste but are military supply ships operated by civillian crew. they are usually seen with battle groups and refuel, resupply ammo and food or parts for broken equipment, they do all this while on the go too. its pretty crazy seeing massive ships that are a few meters apart resupplying while going 20 knots. i am not sure if any navy other than the us is capable of resupplyiing on the go.
