The 360 had a ton of Japanese games because Microsoft was funding them in an effort to get a foothold in Japan but it failed so hard they gave up.
Japanese consumers simply will not buy a foreign product. They're not interested so it will always be a contest between Nintendo and Sony there.
Nintendo doesn't bring the powerhouse hardware and is seen as more for kids so Sony stlll dominates in the AAA space while Nintendo gets cut down ports.
And the censoring stuff is definitely beyond Sony. It's looking more and more like CERO is cracking down on things the last few years so Nintendo won't be a refuge for long.
CERO have been getting far stricter when it comes to content. They've even cracked down on a few Nintendo titles forcing model changes to avoid accidental underskirt shots.
Except they could be censoring to be par with CERO requirements. So no. That quote doesn't apply. I'm also not part of any "outrage culture" unlike the person I was replying to who twists everything to be about SJWs even when they've been provided proof otherwise.
I don't agree with the censoring either. I was just saying that there's more than Sony's policies involved in this stuff nowadays. Japan is getting far stricter about game ratings. Even Nintendo first party titles have been affected. Sony seems like they might just have jumped on an overall trend early.
There's a general crackdown on this stuff across the board in a lot of Japan because of the Olympics.
U're definitely a censorship supporter who want to protect sjw from getting blamed.
Nice strawmen you build there.
But that's fair enough. I did not read those interviews. I'm willing to admit mistakes.
That ties into more of Sony's "cleaning up their image" stuff. Which definitely has some links to the sjw stuff in that Sony wants to try to avoid offending anyone but they're not the only reason.
The thing is that stuff started three years before they moved to California (Monster Monpiece censored on Vita in 2013. They moved in 2016.) California is a symptom of them changing but not the cause.
Edit: actually that brings up why I suspect Nintendo is less prone to censoring with the Switch. The switch eShop has much stronger region locks than Sony does with a lot more divisions. So if a game did happen to run afoul of local guidelines, it's easier for Nintendo to just block sales in one region.
Sony is trying to distribute games they can essentially sell in every open market but what that results in is games that have to be watered down. There's also a lot of "anime is mostly for teenagers and children" mentality with this but that's a fairly common attitude in Japan and the West.
These games that are being censored are being held to an international standard of what is "appropriate" for teenagers rather than just getting different ratings per region. It could very possibly be Sony being lazy and not wanting to deal with arguments from ratings organizations.
The thing is that Sony is ultimately a business and will do what they think is best for their profits whether that be pandering to the woke crowd or just saving a lot of negotiation costs. It's probably a bit of both.
This is just for the characters of the first game being in the second game, and how they will keep their original "uncensored" glitch form costumes.Meanwhile, the 3 new girls of the second game will be censored anyway no matter where you play the game.
Just took a good look at the first games characters again. You know....even censored they don't look that bad, compare to other games I've seen getting censored. This is literally having Sony complimenting the game. They could do 3 times worse.
Not trying to defend the console version but, playing a game where 6/9 characters are uncensored, and you play a battle.Imagine 2 of them being from the first game and the other 2 from the second game.At least 2 of them (one from the 1st and one from the 2nd game) being in glitch forms. Then you put them side to side and one is uncensored and the other one is censored (red tint like cloth on her body). Won't that look weird AF?

This is the example I mean, it's obvious coming from Compile Heart that the boob window was supposed to show skin
