I can't pan the ship at the beginning?

It is saying to use my mouse to pan around, but I don't have a mouse, and the one built into my PC doesn't seem be working?

I can't continue, because the game won't let me turn and/or pan the ship.

Help?

Edit 1: I was able to get it to turn/pan, by using the Shift + WASD options.

I have no idea why it wouldn't let me use my built in mouse on my PC though.

Now I have to Zoom. Which seems to involve clicking on my mouse. Which I am doing with touchscreen mouse built in my PC. And it is not working.

I am really liking this game so far. It is really my kind of game! But the zooming and panning is a bit annoying. Even though I do find it cool you can turn/steer the ship and/or do this. I just wish I was able to do this. Because I want to be able to. And I want to be able to continue on in the game.

And I don't think I should need to get a separate mouse, and not just the one built into my PC to be able to play some things.

So yeah, please, still help?

Edit 2: I was able to continue on in the game. But I don't really feel like I was able to zoom? At least not very much and/or not super noticeably. So I am still having some problems with it. (I do know how, and have changed the setting for panning and zooming speed. But I don't really know how much that helped me. Maybe some?). If anyone knows some panning and/or esp. zooming tips. That would be cool. Thank you.

Excited to continue on with this great game so far (I am still loving it and think it is awesome. I am just having a bit of trouble with a couple of things).
