How is the remaster nowadays (June 2024)?

With the announcement of the new game with Max back, I plan to revisit the franchise. I have the original "Life is Strange" and "Before the Storm" from their time, but I would like to know in general how this remaster is nowadays.

I have been checking some threads and noticed some reports about graphic bugs and an apparent deadlock in episode 4, but unlike at launch when the game had mixed reviews (both recent and overall reviews), today it has overwhelmingly positive reviews (95%) recently and very positive (82%) overall. For those who have played the remaster since the release, are these reviews reliable? Is it worth it during a sales?

Played all episodes recently, didnt really notice anything crazy going on. game ran as smooth as can be.

Some people talk about a bug in episode 4, but even that I didnt encounter, not sure whats up with that.

I will say that the last time I played it it was still buggy but it's way better compared to launch. Plus they actually finished all the textures. I remember at launch like half the textures look like they weren't touched at all, but that was updated.

Currently can't get past the farmhouse in episode 4, tried 3 guides that 'work' to no avail, couple more to try but I'm deflated with it. I'd be recommending the original over this every day.

Most of those aren't too bad (I'm not even sure what the issue is supposed to be with Rose's face), but the lack of facial makeup in the play, and the camera spraying glass is weird. I saw another video where there's a lack of grease on Chloe's hands after fixing a car so it looks odd seeing her brushing off her already clean hands compared to the original.

The game still has a significant bug in episode 4 that will softlock you. I also had some 3 or 4 dialogs where an audio line didn't load. No weird behavior besides. And it looks soo much better than the original, especial the facial expressions. I'm happy I bought it.

If anyone is still having issues with this, i got mine to work with relative ease.

I found the hatch

try the padlock.

attach the rope to the padlock

ask chloe for assistance to reach the platform

pull the motor down

climb to the platform

rewind slowly to the very beginning so the motor is once more at the top of the platform and so chloe is back at the chest before she assisted you to the platform (so she isn't standing around in the barn)

then proceed with opening the padlock.

i didn't glitch down to the floor if you attach the rope and rewind chloe to her original spot.

broken audio so footsteps only come from one speaker.
game breaking bug in the barn that will have you loading checkpoints and playing through the barn section several tries till you finally get it in the "right" order.
not all characters have been remastered as well as max and chloe
no credits at end of each chapter playing the max and chloe theme just a starting next chapter and countdown

i like the game more because of higher def max and chloe but i think when i play it again next year im going back to the original version

Big fan of the original duology, but I'll hold off on this demaster...

Two days before the announcement of the new game, I woke up in the morning and suddenly really wanted to buy comics Hehe, the universe said "- Hurry up", and who would have thought - volumes #1 and #4 were in the bookstores of my city in a single copy. Volumes #1 and #2 were no longer available anywhere online except second-hand sites (and even here there are only a few), and getting new from retail stores in other cities is not so easy, but I still managed) At that time, the retail chain announced 48 copies of #2 in retail stores across the country, now there are 16 of them.

So, it's better to replay the originals, and get to know the comics on the wave

Although some people think this remaster is generally good and only fails in small details, it is precisely those small details that make the difference.

I will replay the original version.
