People...it's not the graphics or the game, it's your computer.
I'm seeing a trend on both the LiS reddit as well as here, people complaining about glitches or bugs or, most of the time, graphics. From black-faced Joyce to bright white lights from off-scene, and people are actually JUDGING it by these issues.

I am sorry to say ( for you, not me ) that this is not the game's issues, it lies entirely on your end. MY game looks absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stunning. Skin and clothing has texture, lighting and shadows are perfect, and the only 'bug' I ran into was the window pane being cracked before actually being hit by the football...but that was actually in the original game as well, so while I'm disappointed that D9 didn't endeavor to fix that I'm also not going to crucify them over it.

Looking at some of the screenshots people are posting, especially on the subreddit, all I can wonder is wtf kind of potato PC they are running this game on?

They pick and choose their screenshot comparisons also.

They’ll take a good angle of Jefferson from the original games and post a “bad angle” of him on the before and after.

IN FLUID MOTION this game trumps the original in every way.

Some adjustments to video had to be made when I played. The brightness they remind you to adjust, but I also had to adjust resolution and other thing to tweak it just right.

Dude, no. My PC is more than capable of running the game with everything set to Hella High and the game still looks, feels, and controls like dog sh*t.
People on the subreddit might be deliberately picking the worst shots, but it doesn't change the fact, that the game is very much inconsistent in its graphic quality, especially during lighting changes. I took many screenshots during the first episode and a lot of them looked like ♥♥♥♥, while others were pure eyecandy. Same goes for the gameplay. After turning off V-sync, the over exaggeration of facial expression seem to have toned down a bit, but the problem with the lighting of the areas, ruining the details on characters still remains.

My game is set to hella high, doesn't have any frame drops or loading issues and with the sheer amount of people complaining about the visuals, it's pretty clear that it's far from an hardware issue. I have not experienced any game breaking bugs yet and most of the glitches were merely a small annoyance, but the fact that they had 5 extra months to perfect the remasters and we get that kind of "quality", makes the judgment fully justified.

No, while not nearly as bad as the Prequel so far (played that one first, what an unopitmized and buggy mess) and obviously people mainly post the worst possible issues, it still looks very inconsistent at times. And I'm playing on a high end PC (RTX3090, 5900x, 64GB 3600MHz CL16 and so on).

I'm playing this on the PS5 and I see the gliches and everything else. So...

No, the game definitely has bugs. I have a mid range computer playing on high graphics and it's not a huge mess but there are enough noticeable problems. The subtitles for Ep2 do not redirect properly and just show the context instead of the character lines. I am not sure about the later episodes yet. There are several places where the lighting doesn't behave correctly for the environment. Ex. very bright lighting and suddenly dark when switching back in forth between characters in conversations. Some transitions do not start right away so it feels a bit jarring.

Other than that the game looks really good. I feel like the game just needs a patch and it should be fine.

OP seems like a total IT expert so I'm inclined to believe him... especially given that every other time some genius defended a buggy game it totally wasn't the game's fault, not at all....

I noticed severe dark lighting in the chapter two, when you walk around the restaurant to talk with the homeless lady. It is absolutely dark and we barely see nothing.
Yes there are some inconsistencies with the lighting even though most of the places are so beautifuly lit.

definitely not the computer. theres issues with the most current cpu and gpus. i myself have a 3060 ti 12 GB and an intel i5, which i admit is not the best, however the way my setup is configured can run this game at the highest settings and not even use half the gpu utilization, less than 10% of the cpu utilization, and still have a 60 fps framerate without a single issue. i dont see how prompts getting stuck, the game freezing to an unplayable state due to an overlapping menu, and multiple reloadings of this game and before the storm on different settings makes it the computer when the software open is the only one having issues. if everyone is seeing these issues and on every setting, its the game. plus if i run the original at max settings and the remastered at the lowest settings (which is basically the exact same game since they barely changed a damn thing), the remastered always has issues and the original has none

Makes you look stupid when the developers have acknowledged these graphical bugs
Besides the crashes and subtitle bug's I've encountered, I found the gfx to be either way too bright or dark, with possible vignetting around the edges of the screen. Maybe, besides a gamma slider, this remastered edition needs a brightness and contrast slider as well?

I guess the potato rig that I built (5950x, 3080ti 12GB, 64GB DDR4 3800) cannot handle a game like this.... le sigh

Ok, sorry you are one of the lucky ones that has no bugs.

I have encountered Many and I mean MANY of the bugs that have been reported.

Black face Chloe...yup
Shaders not working correctly...yup
bad lighting in a LOT of area's...yup

Voice lines not playing...yup
TELEPORTING - When you help Joyce make pancakes, the eggs are by the door (Like before it was patched in the original game) But when you take them you are teleported back into the Kitchen to where the eggs were moved to AFTER they patched it. (Again in the original version)

Can 100% assure you it's not my computer and I don't have a potato PC, I Ran LiS True colours Maxed settings at 1440p at over 90fps while streaming it with no issues at all.

This game runs FINE, the shaders are just buggy/broken.

They did a sloppy job and it 100% shows, and they need to fix it.

A few more examples incase you think it's STILL my computer.

Mirror reflections

In Before the storm remaster they look HORRIBLE, they charecter model just looks overly blocky. (Think Minecraft charecter moddle made from lego.

HOWEVER

In Life is strange remaster the mirror reflections are PERFECT.

The shader issues in BTS with Chloe turning blackface, or looking like shes hiding a blue light up her shirt do NOT exist in the Life is strange remaster.

Chloe truck looks like watered down pee water colour wise.

Colours in general look washed out, but then sunsets (End of chapter two when your sat on the steps watching the eclipse with warren) Is just blinding.

Subtitles showing their ID string instead of what's being said...Nice example here is when your in the junkyard (LIS-R) theres a bit of t-shirt behind the bus, you examin it and it LITTERALLY tells you:

ID (insert whatever) RACHELS SHIRT.

The devs...or whoever lead the remaseter REALLY dropped the ball, they did next to ZERO playtesting otherwise the most obvious bugs and crashes would have been caught.

I'm not mad, just dissapointed they didnt treat the remaster with some respect.
What a ignorant post to make.

Imagine knowing so little about computers and games that you make a post like this..
