The fun of Cheat-Engine and an unlikely request
Okay so I know this is going to be controversial, and probably a lot of people are going to reply with something like: "git gud" or whatever but... I honestly just don't play this game anymore after they changed it so that you can't use cheat-engine to modify things like in game money etc.

At first I played the game a lot in the "normal" mode but eventually (after about 80 hours) I got bored of that and wanted to play around with "top tier" decks where everything is upgraded and I get to purchase whatever I want. Cheat-Engine worked great for this and the game went from being a game I very much enjoyed to one of my all time favorites.

Again: I know a lot of people are probably going to get mad about that idea, claiming that it's somehow sullying the dev's creative vision or making the patron gods of gaming cry. But honestly, playing this way became my favorite mode to the point where I just didn't want to play anymore without having some way to be "overpowered" in this way. I'd say that people should try it themselves except... well, there just isn't a way to do that right now.

So what's the point of this post?

A few reasons actually. I'd love it if anyone had another suggestion on how to have the same kind of experience (infinite money being the most simple, but really any way to have a ton more freedom for deck construction would work) OR some way to "downgrade" the game to its pre-dlc state so that I can still go back and play the game my favorite way.

The most pie-in-the-sky outcome of this post is the devs reading it and finally implementing some kind of true "custom deck" experience to the game where we are free to swap in or out any cards we have unlocked, upgrade them, or whatever else we want so that we can tailor out experience that way. I actually have a post about a custom deck mode on this very forum, and it's been amusing to me how every so often I've gotten a very belated reply to it as other people consider the merits of the idea.

Would this kind of mode be difficult to implement? I really don't know. I'm not a programmer and so to my untrained eye it seems totally doable, but there are definitely a lot of variables that I don't know that could make the idea difficult.

Why am I writing this post now? I just installed and booted up the game after not playing it for probably a year or more and I did a few rooms and... well, just got bored with it all over again. I then remembered how cool it was to eagerly await every gym in the game so that I could upgrade all my cards and tailor my deck with a bunch of new, powerful tech... and compared to that I found that I just didn't have any interest in grinding and scraping by anymore. That's not to say that the main game is BAD- far from it, but just that after 80+ hours it got stale for me in a way that has stood the test of time.

Heck, just re-enabling the ability to use cheat engine would probably get me both playing the game again AND purchasing the DLC...

but I have little hope anything like that will happen.

So, if you have a way to achieve the same thing then please let me know. OR if you know how to "downgrade" the game back to its pre-dlc version please let me know.

Thanks for your time.
