Events List (Spoilers)
I'm making a list of events and outcomes as I go. Figured it might be interesting to see if the "Always avoid events" crowd are correct.

I classify them as "always positive" "usually positive" "usually negative" or "always negative" There's some judgement in this but some things for consideration:

The average value of a node is positive, so "no effect" is a negative outcome.

If an event requires you to pay money you can take it when you don't have the money and it still gives you the reward. That "Upgrade any card for £100" event can let you nab a £120 upgrade for £10.

I'm usually willing to trade HP for money. Recovering HP is fairly easy and gets easier the more upgrades and deck thinning you've done. However events can kill you so nothing that costs HP can be "always positive" since you might be low enough that it does, no matter how good the exchange rate.

All of the event fights are winnable without losing HP using a starting deck, I don't weight the difficulty of the fight as particularly important, but I do consider a fight with a lower reward than going to a random node as a negative outcome.

Gaining a random card that you can't refuse is a negative event.

Long term injuries are worse than basically any bonus the game has to offer and are weighted as such.

My count so far is:
Always Positive 5
Usually Positive 8
Usually Negative 4
Always Negative 4

All four of the "always negative" events either do nothing or give a small bonus (but smaller than completing a combat node)

The worst events wind up in the "usually negative" category, because they've got the potential to help but rarely do. With the backseat of the car being the worst, having two options with 2 downsides and one that risks a long term injury.

There are some events that I am starting to suspect fix the dice roll. I've had the sniper event a bunch of times and I've never had the "take the shot" succeed despite its advertised 66% success and I've never had "play it by the book" fail despite its advertised 66% failure. Punching a shark has also never worked out for me but I'm still going to try it every time until it works ;)

I've listed the events below so you can make up your own mind, there's still a lot of ?? for options I've never tried, though in a lot of cases there are some obvious "no effect" buttons.

I think I'm going to keep tagging event nodes. There are two events that really suck, but most bottom out at wasting a node, and the potential for free enhancements, free/cheap upgrades, and extra momentum keep me throwing those dice.

Plus I really want to see what happens if the shark thing works out :D

I'm aware of a few other events from before I started writing them down: The monk in the airport, and the bar room brawl (which also has a follow up event where the dudes pleased you helped his bar) so this list is far from complete.

One thing that stands out is how few real choices there are. For most events there's simply a best option you'd always click, it seems like it'd be better if more offered a meaningful choice that'd be informed by how your run is going and what you're building towards.

The problem is that most of the time it's not worth it to take even what you call the "usually positive" events. I'd rather fight rather than pick those events most of the time.

The way I see it a fight is worth a card pick and £30. I'd sell all my card picks for £20 a time if I could so the way I see it any event averaging more than £50 is beating the odds.

If the node has a bonus I want then all bets are off. I'll hit a momentum node over an event any day of the week. But if it's a bonus I don't want (health at full HP, max combo for a deck that's not using it) then I think those events are all equal to or better than the node:

Manilla beats the £50 target since it averages £50 if you have money to lose and becomes more valuable if you don't.

Drop box is definitely worth it because an enchancement is a huge gain. You'll be discarding them by the end of the game, but having picked an extra one from the pool could be healing every level or more momentum.

The MI:6 agent costs 10HP but a free upgrade can be worth up to £180. I'll almost always get more than £100 of value in it.

I'm not sure about wires yet. It depends how much damage it does when it goes off, it
might not be worth it. I've not seen it go off yet.

The Boxing Gym is situational. If I'm upgrading one of the super expensive cards or if I've got less than £100 in the bank it works out better than a node, but if not it can be a bad pull.

Structural damage is great. 5HP for £100? It'd take me 3-4 regular nodes to save that much, absolutely worth it for a minor scratch.

Like wires I've never seen the "lose HP" outcome for the politician so it may or may not be worth it depending on how bad that is.

Target in sights has an expected gain of £50 so it much of a muchness.

Thank you OP. This is really useful.

I just saw a late-game event where a guy comes and gives you a free Enhancement for having done the bar fight event earlier (he says 'you saved my life that day'). So follow-up events are absolutely a thing, and the one where you help your old contact may be worth it after all

I just Handled a bar fight & was looking for information on the Ancient Monk Event, glad to know I'll be getting rewarded for fighting all those people down the line. :MoonlighterShiny:

The ancient monk you can either skip or pay £100 and get nothing. If you do the latter there's a follow up event where you meet him again and he'll give you a unique card (You poke an enemy and they take 10damage/turn until they die)

Thanks for this, it helps a lot, we really need an updated version though, shame the wiki is so bleak

Be the change you'd like to see in the world, start writing down your events if you're still playing ;)

I didn't get on with the DLC for this game (I didn't like that most of the cards wouldn't combine into existing decks) so there's no sense in my doing it.

That said, I'll probably do it for Knights in Tight Spaces when it comes out. I'm excited by that announcement.

Please, what announcement...?

EDIT: Whoops, never mind, I figured it out. Yes, INSTRABUY!
