Oculus Quest 2 - problems / solved
I'm playing on a Quest 2 via cable. The game looks great (Radeon 6800 XT) and so far all interactions are very well done. But I have no sound in the headset (first time ever) and I cannot progress after I get the gun. The doors to the shooring range won't open, whatever I try. Maybe there's an audio hint what to do, but if so - I cannot hear it :-)
P.S. I did enable subtitles to compensate for the missing audio.

hey,

we are sorry to hear your sound does not work. We had similar issues before and were able to solve this to disable your other audio drives so only the oculus one remains, although it is rare so I would first restart oculus and your PC.

To continue in the shooting range you have to equip/unequip your gun by pressing the B button or Y if you got the gun in that hand.

I have the audio issue in other games too sometimes. Can’t exactly pinpoint when it occurs, and when not. Workaround is simple though:
- I make sure the game is not running in the background (Windows focus on game).
- I manually select the Oculus as sound output device if needed (simply using taskbar audio icon). Always works.

Hi, thanks for your replies. I simply set the Oculus as my primary sound device in Windows and then sound worked; and the door opened as well - don't know if the two issues were somehow related or not, because I also did press all the mentioned buttons before.
Now, praise where praise is due: This looks very, very promising! Movement is swift and precise (and no motion sickness), the planet looks great, especially underwater. Performance is very solid. This could be the first title since Half Life: Alyx and the Lone Echo games that delivers on what I want VR to be.
My only criticism would be that throwing the "cables" looks weird, as in physically wrong; If the cable is supposed to be magnetically pulled to the socket, maybe some kind of visual effect could show that - and the voice acting isn't too great. But those are minor complaints.
I hope the demo goes on for a bit more :-)

P.S.
There's one more thing: I really like that swimming requires you to actually move. However, the transition from walking, where you just press the stick, and water, where you have to "work", is confusing. Climbing requires movement as well, I'd love an option where you also have to move to walk in the game (think of Nintendo's Ring Fit Adventure) - maybe some side-swinging of the hands? That would make the whole experience even more physical.

I agree and I like your proposed solution, this would indeed take care of the ‘weird physics’.

There's some genuinely promising stuff in here but yeah, the voice acting is *rough* to the point of being distracting, particularly the woman in the drone.
